Today was lovely but cold and there were even a few flakes of snow in between the sun.
We went a walk up on the moor behind our house and to the lovely river Lusa about half a mile away and walked up the river side with its wonderful waterfalls and ravines. A beautiful isolated place.
We walked back on what we could find of the old drove road from Breakish to Kylerhea - not much of it is visible these days. Here's a few photos I took of the views.

Went a lovely walk yesterday to Harta Corrie up the Sligachan river. Walked about 10 miles and though is was a bit misty at times it was very atmospheric. There are so many lovely walks near here we are very lucky. The top photo is of "The Bloody Stone", it is in the Corrie and marks the spot of a battle between the Macleods and the MacDonalds a long time ago. The other photo is on the walk in.

Snowdrops are out
Well it is a nice feeling that it is February though our January weather has been quite good compared to usual. Only one storm so far this year. The snowdrops are out too. They look so peaceful even in the storm.

I've just been out for a walk round Breakish. We have the best weather in the UK just now and so far all of January has been lovely with just a bit of snow on the tops and lots of sun, like today. So lucky to live here.

December Sun!
Today was one of those lovely frosty, but sunny and blue winter days and a little bit hazy. I went a short walk to our beach nearby at Ashaig and it was deserted except for the birds. I've just got a new camera so I took a few shots of the views though I didnt cross to the sands and went along the shore.
The top photo looks to Ben na Cailleach (the old woman's mountain), the second one to the Cuillins and the last one towards the mainland and you can just about see the sandy beach at Ashaig.
This is all only a 10 minute walk from Breakish Moss Cottage.

Winter lettuces
A lovely day today so I was checking out the plants in the tunnels and the greenhouses and planting out spring tulips that I was given as a present from Amsterdam.
The winter lettuces are looking good in the tunnel and if the weather does not get too frosty then they will stay this size till the spring and by April/May we will have our own fresh lettuces again. Looking forward to it already!
